Sum of the parts, part III
A certain common English noun is derived from a Persian word. The spelling of the word in English contains within it the non-overlapping spellings of two other common nouns, each of which could itself be a participant in an instance of the Persian-derived word.
The two shorter nouns have the same length (in letters, if not feet) and are separated in the longer word by a single vowel.
Provide the Persian-derived word.
CARAVAN (CAR + A + VAN) (this is the question, inspired by seeing a Dodge Caravan while walking on a Philadelphia street in November, that inspired this quiz)
