In this uber-bleak, yet lighthearted sci-fi flick, Tommy Lee Jones plays a Texas sheriff encountering a string of murders attributable to an alien, eventually recruiting Agent K (Will Smith) to his squad in the hope of solving the case. The murderous alien, played by Natalie Portman in an Academy-award winning performance, turns out to be driven by an all-consuming competitive desire to play the lead role in a cosmic ballet.
