One of the more humorous theories out there suggests that the entire city of Bielefeld, Germany, does not exist. After all, do you know anyone from there, or anyone who has been there? The internet joke spread widely, to the point that the city council launched a tourism campaign to great fanfare, announcing "Bielefeld exists!" The campaign only worsened the situation--why?
