I turn 31 years old on February 12th on the solar calendar and on the 8th of Adar (this year March 4th) on the Hebrew calendar, so here are some questions about the number 31. Part I will be out for the former date, part II for the latter date. As an inversion of the numerals 31, there are 13 questions in each of the quizzes.
We cover a lot of ground here between the two quizzes -- geography, music, television, current events, sports, math, history, film, literature, language, science, etc.
Unless otherwise specified, a correct last name is sufficient and a correct first name without a last name is not. If you list both names and one is incorrect, you get it wrong.
Once the quiz closes, I will open this post as a place to discuss the questions from both part I and part II.
See below for how scoring works.

MATH
Last one!
31 can be written in the form (nk - 1) for integers n and k greater than 1.
All in one string of numerals, write out 31 (base 10) in base n and then base k.
("987654321" is one string of numerals; "9876 and 54,321" is not.)
