On the morning of December 7th, 1st Lt. Kermit Tyler was alerted to a large "haze of planes" approaching Oahu by the Opana radar station. Tyler told the radar operators to ignore it since he was expecting a large flight of THIS ALPHANUMERIC DESIGNATION OF PLANES to come in that morning. The haze was that of the Japanese Zeros approaching Pearl Harbor.
