In honor of Southern University's "Human Jukebox" coming to Athens this weekend for a rather historic halftime, answering the following about college marching bands. For those not really keen on college conference monikers, B1G means "Big 10."

Southern's Human Jukebox will share an unprecedented nine minutes of halftime in Sanford Stadium alongside this band. They got their name from the uniforms they first got in the 1930s (British soldiers had nothing to do with it).
This school's band is often referred to as "the best damn band in the land." They make sure to at least dot their "I" every time.
In the 1982 edition of "The Big Game," this school's band stormed the field at the end thinking they had won. The opposing team's football player made sure to tackle one of their trombonists in the process letting them know they just didn't.
Although they are now three times the size of their moniker, this school has had "The Marching 100" since 1946. Recent years has seen some controversy involving the death of a drum major and hazing practices.
This school's band may or may not have created drill where the Starship Enterprise flies into the mouth of its bitter rival's mascot in the first game of the 2015 season. Will let this drill chart be Exhibit A.
The Alabama Marching Band goes by this monetary nickname. With inflation, though, it's probably a little more than that now.
Without a doubt one of the most overexposed marching bands in the universe, they played backup on Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk." It's now one of their signature songs.
In 1967, the Pride of the Southland began playing this song, finally made their state's official song in 1982 thanks to their incessant and infernal playing of it.
Begun in 1977, this B1G band's The Fifth Quarter turns postgame into its own mini version of a Munich beer garden (complete with the Beer Barrel Polka and the Chicken Dance).
Every four years, this school's band reenacts the story of Helen of Troy and the Trojan War, right down to the Trojan Horse raid. It makes sense when you read between the lines.
This school's "World Famous" band played at the very first Super Bowl in 1967. They repeated the honor again in 1975 and 1998.
Three schools claim to possess the "World's Largest Drum." One is in the B1G, one in the SEC and one in the "Big 12." Name any of them.
