Quiz Description

January 1 feels like an eternity ago .... the first two people on this quiz both died on 1 January 2020. I write this quiz throughout the year, and when I opened this for the first time in months 2 weeks ago, I was floored that I had forgotten that they died this year. It seems like forever ago. 2018 sucked. 2019 sucked. Then 2020 asked those two to hold its beer. 2020 has been a disaster the likes of which almost none of have seen in their lifetime. We lost a lot of good people, a vast majority of whom are not people who made the news. This quiz, however will focus on some of the more famous people who died this year. Given a quote ... from a movie, TV series, song lyric, play, book, interview, etc ... identify the speaker or writer, as indicated. Every answer will be an individual who passed away in 2020. Part II coming soon!

James Lipton (Host of "Inside the Actor's Studio")

Is it so terribly inconceivable to comprehend God with one's senses? Why does he hide in a cloud of half-promises and unseen miracles? How can we believe in the faithful when we lack faith? What will happen to us who want to believe, but can not? What about those who neither want to nor can believe? Why can't I kill God in me? Why does He live on in me in a humiliating way - despite my wanting to evict Him from my heart? Why is He, despite all, a mocking reality I can't be rid of?

or, from a different film:

Especially important is the warning to avoid conversations with the demon. We may ask what is relevant but anything beyond that is dangerous. He is a liar. The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us. But he will also mix lies with the truth to attack us. The attack is psychological, Damien, and powerful. So don't listen to him. Remember that - do not listen.
