Quiz Description

For each sport, predict what country will win the highest TOTAL of medals among all events. For example, for the sport Alpine Skiing, you would be predicting what country wins the most medals among downhill, slalom, giant slalom, Super G, combined, and team for both men's and women's competitions. The numbers in parentheses indicate the number of events within each sport.

No weight is given to the medal won (so for our purposes a gold is just as good as silver or bronze), but any ties will broken in favor of the country with the most gold medals (any ties after that point will see all of the countries involved in the tie counted as correct).

I would prefer full country names rather than three-letter Olympic code for simplicity of grading. But I'll take the codes if you're wrapped up in Olympic fever and want to use them.

NOTE ABOUT RUSSIA: as you likely know, the IOC has banned Russia from competing due to their systematic doping program, but will allow individual Russian athletes to participate if they can prove they've not doped. If you think enough of these athletes will win medals in an event to take the overall title, please give your answer as OAR or Olympic Athletes from Russia. RUSSIA WILL BE MARKED AS AN INCORRECT ANSWER!

Finally, predictions will close by midnight EST on February 8 rather than the published date.
