Carpenter much later after the fact considered The Thing to be the first of what he called his "Apocalypse Trilogy". Name either of the other two Carpenter films which complete that trilogy. One was a 1987 film about a team of scientists trying to contain a green liquid in the basement of a church which seems to be the devil, and the other is a 1994 film starring Sam Neil investigating insanity caused by reading an author's books.
