Who painted the second (and still extant) Teddy Roosevelt portrait? As the story goes, this painter of Portrait of Madame X told Teddy that the president didn't understand what it took to make a good portrait; TR whirled around with his hand on the newel (staircase pillar) and exclaimed, "Do I?!"
