Begun around the 1930s, THIS NIGHT BEFORE HALLOWEEN, also known as "Mischief Night," and most infamously associated with Detroit, has escalated from soaping windows to setting houses on fire. It has since died down due to community involvement to prevent it and has been replaced by a new more opposite sounding name (this new name will also be accepted as an answer).
