This guy's wife sculpted a statue of the man in question 4, and much like that captain, this captain's last trip didn't end well. A former colleague of Ernest Shackleton, he kind of dickishly claimed exploration rights to all of Antarctica around the Ross Sea, telling Shackleton that he didn't have the right to launch another expedition from there, after this man led the Discovery expedition to the same place. Name this captain who recorded in his journal Great God! This is an awful place after finding the Norwegian flag at the South Pole, and who died on his return from the Pole as leader of the Terra Nova expedition.
