O. Henry's short story "The Caballero's Way" was made into a movie, which began a series of 27 western movies and a six-season television show starring WHAT DESPERADO? The character was the villain (insofar as there was one) of the original story, but the Hollywood version was a heroic Robin Hood figure and attracted a sidekick called Pancho.
