Having started life way back when as one of those little kids who’s 10 going on 50, StahlhutJ is a longtime aficionada of grouchy lyrics -- especially, but not limited to, those of the 1970s and 1980s. So: Grumble away, but be sure to read the questions carefully, because some ask for a song title, some for a band, some for a singer, some for either/or/both, et cetera. And if you don’t read the questions carefully, don’t complain, because even on your worst day, you can’t out-grouch StahlhutJ.

(1995) Name EITHER the Britpop band OR the SONG: "I took her to a supermarket/ I don't know why but I had to start it somewhere/So it started there/I said pretend you've got no money/She just laughed and said 'Oh you're so funny'/I said 'Yeah?/Well I can't see anyone else smiling in here.'"
(1982) Name BOTH the SONG and the SINGER: "Can we film the operation/Is the head dead yet?/You know the boys in the newsroom/Got a running bet/Get the widow on the set."
(1981) Name the BAND, much better known for a 1983 hit that described their unusual experience with international media: "This modern world deserves a modern attitude/You've gotta stick it to them/Before they stick it to you/I want the money/And I want it in cash/In a plain brown bag/You can put it out, put it out, put it out by the trash."
(1997) Name the SINGER: "Hello, it's me/I'm not at home/If you'd like to reach me/Leave me alone."
(2004) Name the musically talented COMEDIAN who made this gem available only on his website, because "... if they broadcast it, it will cost a quarter of a million dollars": "F*** you very much, the FCC/ F*** you very much for fining me/ Five thousand bucks a f***/ So I'm really out of luck/ That's more than Heidi Fleiss was charging me."
(1977) Name BOTH the SONG and the SINGER: "He snatches at you and you match his cigarette/She pulls the eyes out with a face like a magnet/I don't know how much more of this I can take/She's filing her nails while they're dragging the lake."
(1974) Name the SINGER, who is not usually associated with the grouch genre: "And we are sick and tired of hearing your song/Telling us how you're gonna change right from wrong/'Cause if you really want to hear our views/You haven't done nothing."
(1984) Name both the BAND AND THE SONG: "Don't harass me/Can't you tell/I'm going home/I'm tired as hell/I'm not the cat I used to be/I got a kid/I'm thirty-three."
(1975) Name the BAND, who name-dropped many 1970s celebrities (like Paul Williams and Randolph Mantooth) at the end of this song: "What do you want from life?/A meaningless love affair/With a girl that you met tonight?/How can you tell when you're doin' all right?/Does your bank account swell/While you're dreaming at night?"
(1974) Name the FOLK SINGER, who was in an unusually grouchy and exceptionally rockish mood for this one: "First he bought a '57 Biscayne/He put it in the ditch/He drunk up all the rest/That son of a bitch/His blood's bad whiskey/I was raised on robbery."
(1979) Name EITHER the band OR the song title: "Aim for the body rare, you'll see it on TV/The worst thing in 1954 was the bikini/See the girl on the TV dressed in a bikini/She doesn't think so but she's dressed for the H-bomb."
(1981) Name the BAND: "We're through being cool/We're through being cool /Eliminate the ninnies and the twits/Put the tape on erase/Rearrange a face/We always liked Picasso anyway."
