Class of 1890: created "Brad's Drink" in New Bern. Surprisingly didn't catch on until the name was changed to Pepsi.

Class of 1994: he won an Academy Award for "The Descendants", but he'll always hold a place in our hearts as dean of Greendale Community College.
Class of 1969: a self-described "horrible sports writer", he switched to political cartoons & won three Pulitzers; he also named a comic strip after his mentor Jim Shumaker.
