"What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."
Despite the wide variety and uniqueness of the US National Parks, there are similarities when it comes to how they are named, as a number of US National Parks share certain words in common. For most of the questions on this quiz, you will be given a list of 2 or more US states and/or territories that contain at least one National Park. Answer these questions with the word shared in common by a National Park from each state or territory listed. The word must be exact and there is only one correct response per question. To be clear, a park with a singular noun and another park with the same noun but in plural form would not be counted as sharing the same exact word for the purposes of this quiz. Thus, as an example, if you enter a plural noun but the answer is the singular version of the same noun, you will be marked incorrect.
For the remaining questions that do not follow the format as stated above, please simply answer the questions as stated.
For the purposes of this quiz, we are only referring to the units of the NPS that specifically have the words "National Park" in their names. With that being said, the specific words "National Park" along with any other related NPS title designations (e.g. National Preserve) are not considered as part of the official name of the parks for the purposes of this quiz.
