Part 2 of the series for 2020. I give you a quote of some kind ... could be an excerpt from a book or paper, from an interview, lyrics from a song, a line from TV or film ... you identify the person responsible for the quote (there will be a more specific description of who we want after the quote).

You still don't understand what you're dealing with, do you? The perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility.
or, from a different film:
I'm old, Gandalf. I know I don't look it, but I'm beginning to feel it in my heart. I feel ... thin. Sort of stretched, like ... butter scraped over too much bread. I need a holiday. A very long holiday. And I don't expect I shall return. In fact I mean not to.
Actor, in two different characters from two unrelated films in 1979 and 2001, respectively.
Sir, is it true that you are 2,000 years old?
Actor, in character, 1960 Record
I get really annoyed because even though only 8% of my film scores were for westerns, most people only remember me for those films.
2014 BBC interview, translated from Italian
Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America.

The Devil bowed his head
because he knew that he'd been beat
and he laid that golden fiddle
on the ground at Johnny's feet
Johnny said, 'Devil just come on back
if you ever wanna try again.
I done told you once you son-of-a-bitch
I'm the best that's ever been!'

Thank you! Thanks very much! Thank you very much, everybody, and welcome to the premiere of the biggest, most exciting, most dramatic television show that I, or you, or anyone else has ever seen! Every night, for the next two weeks, real people, just like you, who called our phone number, will be playing for an unprecedented cash prize of one million dollars! We are terribly excited about this show! The technology, the music, the lights, the human drama! Even this audience gets us crazy! What a night this is going to be! So now, let's meet our first 10 contestants ...
Television host, 16 August 1999 sign on
If you arrest all the men who get intoxicated in Atlanta, you must have a good many Yankees in jail, Captain. Bring him in, Captain Butler, if you can walk yourself.
Actress, in character, 1939 film
D'ya think that thing wanted to be an animal!?!? No dogs make it a thousand miles through the cold!! No, you don't understand! That thing wanted to be US! If a cell gets out, it could imitate everything on the FACE OF THE EARTH! AAAAND NOTHING can stop it!
Actor, in character, 1982
We will work to be an example of how we, as brothers and sisters on this earth, should treat each other. Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe.
Actor, in character, 2018 film
Tell Cersei, I want her to know it was me.
Actor, in character, 2017 TV episode
Throwing out preclearance when it has worked and is continuing to work to stop discriminatory changes is like throwing away your umbrella in a rainstorm because you are not getting wet.”
Author, 2013
It is something special to do a job many say can't be done. Maybe that's how courage is spelled out, at least in my case, but, I'd like to tell you about my friend, Brian Piccolo.
In the middle of last season, Brian was struck down by the deadliest, most shocking enemy any of us an ever face - cancer. Compare his courage with the kind I'm supposed to possess. There was never any doubt I'd return, knee injury or no. But, think of Brian and his fortitude in the months since last November, in and out of hospitals, hoping to play football again, but not too sure at any time what the score was or might be.
He has the heart of a giant, He has the mental attitude which makes me proud to have a friend who spells out the word 'courage', 24 hours a day, every day of his life.
Now, you flatter me by giving me this award, but I say to you here and now that I accept it for Brian Piccolo. Brian Piccolo is the man of courage who should receive the George S. Halas Award. It is mine tonight, and Brian Piccolo's tomorrow.
I love Brian Piccolo, and I'd like all of you to love him, too, and tonight, when you hit your knees, please ask God to love him.
Approximate transcript of a speech, Pro Football Writers Awards Dinner, Americana Hotel, 25 May 1970
Oh yes, I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong
(Strong)
I am invincible
(Invincible)
Songwriter (with Ray Burton) and original singer
What are you doing here? Just give me the ball. The only thing you know about pitching is that it is hard to hit.
MLB pitcher, addressing his catcher, Tim McCarver, during a 1959 visit to the mound
If you have tried everything else – and women are pretty good at this – they can’t leave it alone. They want to have the last word and you give them the last word, but they’re not happy with the last word. They want to say it again, and get into a really provocative situation, then I think it’s (slapping a woman) absolutely right.
1987 interview with Barbara Walters
Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of all of us, welcome to America's favorite answer-and-question game, "Jeopardy!" You know how we play it; we provide the categories and the answers, and it's then up to our contestants to give us the right question. Players, as you know, anytime you recognize an answer you're free to ring in; however, I do want to caution you about the jeopardy - if you are wrong, the value of the answer will be deducted from your score. But, to help you add to your winnings, we have hidden somewhere on the board a Daily Double. If you're lucky enough to uncover that, then you'll have a chance to double any or all of your winnings up to that point in the round. And it's very important that you try to win as much money as possible, because only the player with the most cash at the end of the day will wind up keeping his or her winnings. If you're ready, then let us play "Jeopardy!"
Introduction of an institution, 10 September 1984
Un poco con la cabeza ... y otro poco con la mano de Dios ...
(slightly redacted) Press conference, 22 June 1986
Sure. I knew the laws of nature, that sound travels at some 760 miles an hour at sea level and some 660 miles an hour at 35,000 feet higher. I also knew we had buffeting problems because of shock waves because I experienced those in air combat, you know, in World War II, when I was flying Mustangs over Germany. I also experienced it in the early jets, the P-80s and P-84s. I knew exactly what the problem was.
Interview with Terry Gross of Byline, 1988
Look... we're getting to be old men, and we've spent our lives looking for the weaknesses in one another's systems. I can see through Eastern values just as you can see through our Western ones. Both of us, I am sure, have experienced ad nauseam the technical satisfactions of this wretched war. But now your own side is going to shoot you. Don't you think it's time to recognise that there is as little worth on your side as there is on mine?
