Ahhhhhh, the 2000s! A decade of wonderful materialistic pop music! A decade where rappers really, really started to make money and wanted everyone to know about their bling. When all we wanted to do was enjoy that Clinton economic boom and feel good after 9/11 changed our entire world. Here it is! Need to bone up on your Billboard Chart history? Ever get a question at pub quiz about a one-hit-wonder and you scream in frustration? Then this series of quizzes will help you! I'll be talking about artists that only had ONE song hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. I'll be doing a quiz or three (there's a lot of these songs) for every decade that the Hot 100 has been around. So, get your music brains on and let's begin!

The early 2000s saw the absolute peak of boy bands and Mariah Carey...did not have just one hit (come on now). But she did like boy bands apparently and had WHICH BAND back her on the 2000 hit "Thank God I Found You"? You may remember this band mostly for its lead singer being married to Jessica Simpson.
Yung Joc may not ring any bells for you but he hit #1 with WHAT 2007 T-PAIN SONG? It might be what a man does in the club when he wants to start talking to a beautiful lady.
Surprisingly, LL Cool J never hit #1 during his 80s/90s heyday. I know, weird. He finally got the top spot as a featured artist on the 2003 hit "All I Have," from WHAT SINGER'S album This is Me...Then.
2006's "Check On It" could be considered a minor hit for its main artist but it's the biggest hit that Slim Thug ever had. WHICH SINGER did he back up? He might've bowed down to her as well considering her royal status and all.
2000 was a very weird year. Not only were we transitioning to the new milennium but we were dealing with a funky blast from the past: Santana. They had their mega-smash "Smooth" but also hit #1 with WHAT SONG? It was the only top tune for R&B duo The Product G&B.
Does the name Colby O'Donis mean anything to you? Yeah, me neither. However, he means a lot to Lady Gaga and helped her get her first #1 on WHAT 2009 SMASH?
Mystikal, one of my personal heroes (JK), did not hit #1 with his dance floor jam, "Shake Ya Ass." However, he did get that top spot as a featured artist on "Stutter." WHAT MONONYMOUS SINGER was the lead on this 2001 song? I don't think he had a side job as a plumber.
Nelly had one of his many #1 hits in 2006 with a banger of a song featuring Paul Wall and duo Ali & Gipp. NAME THIS SONG, an ode to mouth ornaments.
There are a very small amount of female rappers who have hit #1. Only eight women have done this and one of them is named Shawnna. She was the backup on "Stand Up," a 2003 hit for WHAT ATLANTA-BASED RAPPER and founder of record label Disturbing Tha Peace.
The 2000s were really good to Outkast. Like, really good. Their 2004 double album Speakerboxx/The Love Below was a mega-seller and gave rise to a lot of musicians, including Sleepy Brown, who got to #1 on WHICH BIG BOI-LED HIT?
THEME: U-S-H-E-R R-A-Y-M-O-N-D. He had two featured artists who got their only #1 backing up the sexy singer: Lil' Jon on a 2004 mega smash that also featured the answer to Question 9 and Young Jeezy on a 2008 banger. NAME EITHER SONG.
Olivia (no last name needed) and Nate Dogg were featured artists that helped WHICH RAPPER get to #1? They sang on 2005's "Candy Shop" and 2003's "21 Questions" respectively.
Posthumous time: In 2008, artist Static Major sadly passed away from complications related to an autoimmune disease at the age of 33. A little over two months later, he reached #1 as the featured artist on "Lollipop," which was off the album Tha Carter III and was a jam track by WHICH RAPPER.
