Quiz Description

The premise of this quiz is relatively simple. I provide the name of an artist who recorded a more obscure "original" version of a song that later became a hit for somebody else. (I use the term "original" loosely here, because it can be a fool's game to establish what is the absolute first version of a popular song. I define "original" here as any version of a song that predated a more well-known hit version.) I'll give you the name of the original artist, as well as the chart position and year of the more well-known version. Unless otherwise stated, the chart position refers to the peak position of the hit version of the song on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts. Your job is to provide the ARTIST and TITLE of the version that became a hit.
