Given clues and a school, name the "alumnus"/"alumna" of a Big Ten school. (Yep, we're ignoring schools added solely for media markets) (For the purposes of this quiz, it's possible that the person in question only attended, but did not complete their studies at the school. We will note this where appropriate. We also picked people who are not primarily known for their athletic prowess.)

Illinois: He has won the Best Director Oscar twice. Both times, however, his film did not win Best Picture, losing out to Crash and Argo, respectively.
Indiana: His co-founding of Broadcast.com was driven by a desire, in part, to listen to Indiana basketball games over the internet. He sold it to Yahoo in 1999 for $5.7 billion.
Iowa: Sweet Bird of Youth, Night of the Iguana, and Camino Real are among the plays of this Iowa alumnus.
Michigan: An 1878 Michigan Law alumnus, his notable clients included Ossian Sweet, John T. Scopes, and Leopold & Loeb.
Michigan State: He left Michigan State after three semesters to begin work on the first of a three-film trilogy starring childhood friend Bruce Campbell.
Minnesota: Though he did not graduate, it was during his time on the folk music circuit in Dinkytown that he adopted his stage name, partially to honor a Welsh poet.
Nebraska: After his service commanding the 10th Cavalry "Buffalo Soldiers" regiment (that would earn him his nickname), he was appointed Professor of Military Science and Tactics at Nebraska in 1891 and graduated with a law degree from the school in 1893.
Northwestern: This comedian wrote the "Tom Brokaw pre-tapes the News" sketch for Dana Carvey while working on Carvey's short-lived ABC show in 1996. He also collaborated with Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello on both Exit 57 and Strangers with Candy
Ohio State: Along with James Risen, one of her pieces was the cited article by the Pulitzer Committee for the 2002 Pulitzer for Explanatory Reporting in covering global terrorism before and after the September 11 attacks. Later, her reporting, later found to be inaccurate, was cited by Bush administration officials as evidence that Iraq had renewed its WMD programs.
Penn State: Earning a BFA from Penn State in the early 1970s, among his earliest work was for Marvel Comics as a costumed Captain America for conventions. Shortly before his taking best known role, he worked with his wife-to-be Genie Francis on North and South, where he played Stanley Hazard.
Purdue: Among the astronauts from Purdue are the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong, and this man, the most recent man to walk on the surface of the moon.
Wisconsin: Though he never finished his studies of biology and geology at Wisconsin, he would go on to found The Sierra Club and to oppose the damming of the Hetchy Hetchy Valley in California.
