According to the youth and their "youtubes", there'll be a new motion picture with Tarzan in theaters this summer. I thought I'd smith a quiz on life and works of that master craftsman of armchair adventure, Edgar Rice Burroughs (certainly not to be confused with William S. Burroughs). Most of the questions focus on works written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, but a few questions are on works inspired by the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs. WARNING: This is quiz is not for the uninitiated. Although I've put one or two easy questions, I opted to make this as esoteric as I could, given that I doubt that I'll have a chance to do elsewhere (Imagine what sort of pub nowadays would allow an entire round on Edgar Rice Burroughs and imagine how you ended up in that terrifying alternate universe).

Edgar Rice Burroughs was born in what American city? In fact, he lived in the suburb/village of Oak Park for some years. Mystery writer Raymond Chandler was also born in this city.
What is the name of a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles, California? Although it's been stated that the neighborhood's name was inspired by the name of a famous character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, it's quite possible that the opposite is true, the name of the place inspiring the name of the character. Also, Edgar Rice Burroughs had considerable property (a ranch) here.
In the Tarzan book series (and in many film adaptations), what kind of animal is Tantor?
Tarzan is not only Lord of the Jungle, he's also (depending on which text) Earl of _______ or Viscount _______? In fact, a 1984 film starring Christopher Lambert and Andie McDowell was called "_____________: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes"
In the novels, Tarzan is actually a bit of a polyglot. In addition to English and French, Tarzan also speaks the language of the great apes, the "Mangani". In the"Mangani" language, what is the term for white people, literally "Great White Apes"? HINT: the word "Tarzan" in "Mangani" refers to skin color.
Despite what the youths will tell you about the " shared Marvel Cinematic Universe", the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs also exist in a shared universe. In "Tarzan At Earth's Core", Tarzan, alongside David Innes visits what inner world inside the Earth, a world featured in another series by Edgar Rice Burroughs?
Tarzan's Africa abounds with lost cities and civilizations. In the novel "Tarzan and the Lost Empire", Tarzan et. al. encounter a lost remnant of what empire?
Name the author of "Tarzan Alive: A Definitive Biography of Lord Greystoke". This author also wrote the Riverworld series and a biography of Doc Savage.
Who sung and wrote "You'll be in My Heart" for the 1999 Disney film, "Tarzan"?
In Edgar Rice Burroughs' Mars series, the natives refer to Mars as "Barsoom", but by what name do they call our beloved planet Earth?
John Carter is not the only Earthman on Barsoom (Mars); there is another. This Earthman who appears in "The Master Mind of Mars" is a US Army Captain in World War I. This army captain shares a first name with a mariner who went for a longer than anticipated voyage and a last name with an actor who fought aliens, both with Sigourney Weaver and Tom Cruise (but in different films).
In the first issue of the second volume of the "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" series, John Carter makes an appearance and fights the Martians from "The War of the Worlds". Who was the writer for that comic book series?
