Fifth Beatles by Mark

The inspiration for the quiz, this recently departed man produced almost every Beatles recording and played piano on a few tracks, including "In My Life".

He was the original bass player, who decided to leave the band to concentrate on art studies and spend more time with his fiance. Sadly, he died shortly afterward.

This WINS DJ may have given himself the title, though he claimed George Harrison gave it to him. He promoted and became friends with the Fab Four when they first came to the U.S. in 1964 and traveled with the group as they went with the Ed Sullivan show to Miami after their New York debut.

This keyboardist was the first musical guest on Saturday Night Live (NBC's Saturday Night). He is co-credited with the Beatles on "Get Back".

Speaking of co-credits, this English singer and guitarist is the only other non-Beatle to receive a joint credit with the group on a recording, doing so on a Polydor release. The Beatles were called The Beat Brothers on the original German release.

He played lead guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".

This convenience store proprietor met the band (or possibly just Paul and Linda) when they were visiting India, and states back then he was known as the Fifth Beatle.

He went to school with Paul and George. He served as an early road manager, personal assistant, briefly as manager, and eventually CEO of Apple Corps.

He served as the band's manager from 1961 until his death in 1967.

He was the original drummer for the group, playing early gigs in Liverpool and Hamburg. Ringo replaced him in 1962.

He met the band after reviewing a 1963 concert of theirs. He collaborated on a regular newspaper column with George. He left the newspaper to become the group's press officer, then became the press officer for Apple Corps.

He filled in on drums for a sick Ringo on the first five shows of the 1964 Beatles world tour.
