The last episode of the show to be produced was the most unique in that only Rod Serling's opening and closing narration were produced by the studio. This episode was a short French film, La rivière du hibou, that won the Oscar and Palme d'Or for live action short. Though a French film, the story is set during the U.S. Civil War. Based on an Ambrose Bierce short story, name this episode (which shares its name with the Bierce short story) which sees a Confederate saboteur escape from his hanging under a railroad bridge to his family's waiting arms ... or so he thinks.
