A good chunk of the 100 most populous cities in America are now suburbs. However, 71 of the 100 can still lay claim to be focus cities of defined Metropolitan Statistical Areas. Of those, which city (the seat of Lancaster County) can be said to have the smallest suburbs, as its 2010 census population of 258,379 is more than 85% of the population of its metro area? The city’s Memorial Stadium, which can hold upwards of 90,000 people, also becomes the third-largest “city” in its state on game days.
