March 12, 1966 - this Hall of Fame hockey player breaks the NHL single-season goals record by scoring his 51st in a matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers. He would finish the season with 54 goals and would hold the record until 1971 when it was eclipsed by former teammate Phil Esposito.
