Famous Baseball Errors by Gypsy

Question 9

This legendary member of the 1962 New York Mets, one of the worst teams in baseball history, once made a running error on what would have been a triple by missing second base. When his manager went out to argue it, the first base coach said, "Don’t bother arguing Casey, he missed first base too." After a pause, Stengel replied, "Well, I know he touched third base because he's standing on it." When this player asked why he hadn’t been given a cake on his birthday, his manager said they were going to get him a cake, but they thought that he'd drop it. And, finally, as a spokesman for Miller Lite, he said, "If I do for Lite what I did for baseball, I'm afraid their sales will go down."
