A version of this substance developed by Whirlpool, was developed for the Apollo missions, but because it did not meet with approval (for reasons of both taste and that it created too many crumbs), it never flew on any Apollo era missions. Identify this freeze-dried substance which originally came in four varieties, that sounds very cool and is available in many science museum gift shops, despite the fact that it was rejected for space flight.
