Perhaps one of the most WTF moments in Oscar history (prior to the whole La La Land/Moonlight thing) occurred when Crash, a film that was not even nominated for a Best Picture Award at the Globes, won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2006, defeating this film that won the Globe for Best Drama, and which won the Oscar for Best Director.
