Latin or English names accepted. This southern hemisphere constellation was thought to be part of Centaurus by the ancients who could see this constellation from Egypt. An imaginary line passing through the alpha and gamma stars allow one to use this constellation in a manner analogous to a single star in Ursa minor. Identify this constellation, part of which can be found on the flags of Australia, Brazil, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Samoa, and even gets a shout out in the national anthems of Australia and Brazil.
