Bette Davis and Joan Crawford by helitzur

Question 7

The director of the film from question 1 of this quiz, he also directed Crawford in two of her next three movies, Susan And God and A Woman's Face. She credited him above all other directors with helping her grow as an actress, and remained friends with him for years afterward, as depicted in Feud where she turns to him for advice on multiple occasions. Though Crawford also laments in Feud that as Hollywood discards older actresses, male directors even older than them can still get top jobs, as this director did with his 1964 Oscar-winner My Fair Lady.
