These insects of the sub-family Triatominae are responsible for the spread of another trympansome, Trypanosoma cruzi, which causes Chagas' Disease. Native to South and Central America, identify this bug which get its creepy name because it was often caught at night biting its victims on the lips. Despite their name, these insects do not transmit mononucleosis.
