In 1984, THIS ACTOR (and his publicist) pleaded to Nancy and Ronald to help him transfer to an American military hospital to receive AIDS treatment through a French doctor. He was later admitted without their help but died of the disease in 1985, becoming the major first celebrity to die from AIDS/HIV.
