Although born in New Zealand, this horse gained fame for his victories in the 1930 Melbourne Cup and a win in Tijuana’s Agua Caliente Handicap in 1932, although he mysteriously died in California days later. He was also the subject of a 1983 Australian feature film and he is memorialized in multiple Australian museums.
